WARNING (please read carefully) 

⚠️ Important Installation Warning

For the tuning module to operate correctly, the light accessory port must be activated.

The tuning system relies on power supplied through this port.
If the light port is not enabled, the tuning will not function.

👉 Please ensure that the light output is switched ON and providing power before use.

If the light accessory port is not activated:
You will need to take your e-bike to an authorised dealer to activate the light function using the Shimano diagnostic tool.

⚠️ Important: Always remove the tuning module before taking your bike to a workshop or dealer.

⚠️ Speed Setting Recommendation

For Shimano EP801 motor, Shimano EP801-RS motor, Shimano EP6 motor, and Shimano EP6-RS motor:

👉 The maximum assisted speed should be set to 35 km/h.

Setting a higher speed may trigger the system’s tamper detection and result in error code W292.

✔️ The 35 km/h setting has proven to be the most stable configuration and helps reduce the risk of errors during operation.

Important: 

•    Keep the bike’s engine TURNED OFF during installation. 
•    Remove the battery form the e-bike according to the manufacturer manual 

STEP 1 – Preparation for Installation
Before beginning the installation, ensure you have the following tools ready:

Required Tools:
- Phillips screwdriver PH1
- Needle-nose pliers

Additional Tools (if crank arm removal is necessary):
- If the crank interferes with the removal of the plastic motor cover, it must be dismantled according to the manufacturer's manual.
- Unscrew the screws holding the motor cover with the Phillips screwdriver PH1.

Pre-installation Steps:
•    Switch OFF the e-bike.
•    Remove the battery from the e-bike following the manufacturer's instructions.

STEP 2 – engine cover removal

-    Unscrew the screws holding the motor cover with the Phillips screwdriver PH1 
-    Remove the engine cover

STEP 3 - Disconnecting Connectors from the Motor

- Using the needle-nose pliers, unplug the speed sensor connector from the motor. The connector can be distinguished from the others by a lock.

STEP 4 – Installing the EPAspeed Tuning Module

1. Using the needle-nose pliers, plug the EPAspeed into the disconnected connectors (step 3).

STEP 5: Verifying Tuning Functionality

1. Reinsert the battery into the e-bike.
2. Power ON the e-bike system.
3. Manually rotate the rear wheel and check the e-bike display to ensure speed is being detected and displayed. The EPAspeed is set by default to 50 kmh.
4. Once the tuning function is confirmed, follow the next steps below:

Pairing the EPAspeed with the EPAspeed App
1. Install the EPAspeed App
Download and install the EPAspeed App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Enable Bluetooth
Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device.
3. Launch the App
Open the EPAspeed App
4. Connect to the Device
In the list of available devices, select the address in bold characters.
o    If the device does not appear verify the following:
      - The e-bike is switched ON.
      - Your mobile device is within 5 meters of the e-bike.
      - Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.

5. App Functionality
Once paired, you can use the app to:
    - Control tuning functions
    - Monitor ride data
    - Adjust the speed limit and other settings

STEP 6 – Positioning the Tuning Module for Optimal Bluetooth Signal

1. Position the Module Correctly
Ensure the module is installed with the Bluetooth logo facing outward, away from the engine. This orientation improves signal strength and ensures optimal wireless connectivity.

2. Ensure the module is not obstructed by metal components or enclosed within the frame.

STEP 7 – Reinstalling the Motor Cover

1. Position the EPAspeed module and all connected wiring neatly into the available space inside the motor compartment.
2. Ensure that the EPAspeed module is oriented with the Bluetooth logo facing outward for optimal signal strength.
3. Refit the motor cover to its original mounting position.
4. Secure the cover using the appropriate screws and tighten them evenly.

STEP 8 – Reinstalling the Crank Arm
1. If the crank arm was removed in Step 2, proceed with reinstallation.
